Walking Alongside Grief: The 2026 CICL Virtual Grief Education Workshop Series

The Center for Infant & Child Loss will host a series of virtual workshops. We invite participants to thoughtfully engage with grief as a lifelong, relational experience. Living Rather Than Merely Existing: Healing After Infant and Child Loss

Facilitator: Tonya M. Logan LICSW, LCSW-C

The death of a child fundamentally alters a parent’s world, identity, and sense of meaning. In the aftermath, many bereaved parents find themselves surviving day-to-day rather than fully engaging with life. This webinar explores the profound distinction between existing in grief and learning how to live while carrying enduring love and loss.

Participants will examine the psychological, emotional, and relational impact of infant and child loss including trauma responses, identity disruption, complicated grief, and societal expectations surrounding “moving on.” Through a trauma- responsive lens, the webinar highlights how parents can integrate grief into their lives without erasing the bond with their child. Emphasis is placed on honoring continuing bonds, reducing guilt around joy, navigating triggers, and fostering resilience without minimizing pain.
